چکیده

We considered the quark-meson coupling model for a nucleon. The model describes a nucleon as an MIT bag, in which quarks are coupled to the scalar and the vector mesons. A set of coupled equations for the quark and the meson fields are obtained and are solved in a self-consistent manner. We show that the mass of a dressed MIT bag interacting with σand ω-meson fields differs considerably from the mass of the free MIT bag. The effects of the densitydependent bag constant are investigated. The results of our calculations imply that the self-energy of the bag in the quark-meson coupling model is significant and needs to be considered in doing the calculations for nuclear matter or finite nuclei.

A quark-meson coupling model with short-range quark-quark correlations

Short-range quark-quark correlations are introduced into the quark-meson coupling (QMC) model in a simple way. The effect of these correlations on the structure of the nucleon in dense nuclear matter is studied. We find that the short-range correlations may serve to reduce a serious problem associated with the modified quark-meson coupling model (within which the bag constant is allowed to decr...

Nucleon resonances in the constituent quark model with chiral symmetry

The mass spectra of nucleon resonances with spin 1 2 , 3 2 , and 5 2 are systematically studied in the constituent quark model with meson-quark coupling, which is inspired by the spontaneous breaking of chiral symmetry of QCD. The meson-quark coupling gives rise not only to the one-meson-exchange potential between quarks but also to the self-energy of baryon resonances due to the existence of m...

Nucleon structure effect on the longitudinal response function

Using the quark-meson coupling model, we study the longitudinal response function for quasielastic electron scattering from nuclear matter within relativistic RPA. In QMC the coupling constant between the scalar meson and the nucleon is expected to decrease with increasing nuclear density. Furthermore, since the electromagnetic form factors of the in-medium nucleon are modified at the same time...

Nucleon Properties in the Perturbative Chiral Quark Model

We apply the perturbative chiral quark model (PCQM) to analyse low-energy nucleon properties: electromagnetic form factors, meson-nucleon sigma-terms and pion-nucleon scattering. Baryons are described as bound states of valence quarks surrounded by a cloud of Goldstone bosons (π,K, η) as required by chiral symmetry. The model is based on the following guide lines: chiral symmetry constraints, f...

Self-consistent quantum effects in the quark meson coupling model

We derive the equation of state of nuclear matter for the quark-meson coupling model taking into account quantum fluctuations of the s meson as well as vacuum polarization effects for the nucleons. This model incorporates explicitly quark degrees of freedom with quarks coupled to the scalar and vector mesons. Quantum fluctuations lead to a softer equation of state for nuclear matter giving a lo...
